Project Ashwa

Students of the Department have built a formula racing car and participated in three international automobile competitions conducted by Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) with headquarters in Michigan (USA) and participated at

> Formula SAE Australasia, held at Melbourne, Australia in Dec 2005
> Formula SAE Australasia, held at Melbourne, Australia in Dec 2006
> Formula SAE Germany, held at Hockenheim, Germany in Aug 2007 

Project ASHWA has won the following awards :

  • Best Endeavour award at Formula SAE Australasia, held at Melbourne, Australia in Dec 2005
  • 1st prize in cost event at Formula SAE Australasia, held at Melbourne, Australia in Dec 2005
  • Young Achievers Award for 2007 by Rotary International



Project Mini Baja

  • Students of the Department have built an ?ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE? and participated in an international competition conducted by SAE International (USA) at Pretoria, South Africa in October 2006.
  • 35 International teams participated in the event and the students made their mark by receiving the acclaim of the judges.
  • The conceptualization and design of the vehicle for the next international event to be held in South Africa during 2008 has already begun.


Project supermilage

  • Students of the Department have conceptualised and designed a car for the international competition to be held at Michigan (USA) during June 2008.
  • The car mainly emphasizes on the enhancement of mileage of the vehicle.


Project Vyoma

  • Students of the Department have conceptualised and designed a remote controlled aircraft for an international competition conducted by SAE International to be held in USA during April 2008.
  • VYOMA is the maiden entry from India for the competition.


Project chimera

  • The project was started at the student level in India and the team consists of students from diverse backgrounds like Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science and Industrial Engineering.
  • The main aim of the project is to build a Hybrid Electric Vehicle.
  • The car once completed will participate in the Tour de Sol, an annual competition to be held in USA
